“We have very fundamentally in our DNA… the idea of collaboration to deliver a city supported by infrastructure.”
To achieve liveability across the bustling city of Sydney, the Greater Sydney Commission collaborates with a multiplicity of state and local government agencies. One example is the Growth Infrastructure Compact being trialled in Sydney’s Greater Parramatta and the Olympic Peninsula (GPOP). Chief Commissioner Turnbull shares how this involves identifying various scenarios for growth as well as the infrastructure required to support them. The commission then prioritises pathways to urban change and transformation. Such collaborative initiatives are powering a great transformation in the GPOP area over the next five to ten years.
