Shaping Communities and Partnerships for Tomorrow: Through a Social-Behavioural Lens

CLC leads the Urban Solutions and Sustainability Socio-Behavioral Science Community of Practice (CoP) to strengthen knowledge sharing of social science research, demonstrate urban impact, and build research network capabilities. This year, CLC has conducted two CoPs focusing on partnerships enabling urban development and translating behavioural insights into planning practice.

Urban Science Week

CLC’s Urban Science Week 2025 was organised in partnership with NUS Cities and Singapore-ETH Centre Future Cities Laboratory (FCL) Global. Held in September, it led discussions on a critical challenge that cities face worldwide: how to effectively translate scientific research into evidence-based urban transformations. Through a series of programmes, it convened government leaders, academics and practitioners from the I&E sector.

Creating Liveable Cities: A Cross Domain Approach to Sustainable Mobility

Aligned with CLC’s Liveability Framework, this publication introduces a cross-domain framework that enables cities to identify and maximise co-benefits of mobility interventions, from health and environment to equity and economic vitality. Case studies from Barcelona, London, Vienna and Singapore demonstrates how integrated planning and broadening benefits assessment can guide outcomes-based and cross-domain strategies to strengthen decision-making and public communication.
Urban Solutions #26 | Toward the Co-Evolution and Mutual Prosperity of Culture and Economy - Suzhou

Suzhou was awarded the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize in 2014 for its success in balancing economic growth with protection of its 2,500-year-old cultural and built heritage through close collaboration with its vast ecosystem. Suzhou is charting a path where heritage and progress coexist.
