The World Cities Summit (WCS) 2024 Conference Report is out now!
The ninth edition of the World Cities Summit, held from 2 - 4 June 2024, focused on what is needed for cities to evolve and adapt to the stresses of our time with the theme “Liveable and Sustainable Cities: Rejuvenate, Reinvent, Reimagine”. Beyond dialogues and discussion, WCS 2024 reinforced its role as a global platform shaping the policies and strategies of tomorrow’s cities. CLC Regenerative City Forum Series - Urban Futures Reimagined

Join us at CLC’s Regenerative City Forum series taking place on 25 June 2025 as part of London Climate Action Week (LCAW)! Together with our partners C40 and Arup, the second in the series of Forums will continue building momentum for the transformation of regenerative cities globally.
Titled Urban Futures Reimagined: A Mayoral Exchange on Regenerative Cities, the Forum will feature Mayors from C40 cities in a dynamic discussion on how urban planning is driving ambitious climate action around the world. It will provide an opportunity for speakers to reflect on how CLC’s emerging Regenerative Cities Framework, in alignment with C40’s forthcoming Urban Planning Accelerator, can advance the transition to net-zero, nature-positive and socially inclusive cities.

Lecture Report: Thriving in a Climate-changed Future: Regenerative Design for High-Density Cities

This lecture held in March focused on how cities apply regenerative design in urban development. The session opened with remarks by CLC’s Executive Director Hugh Lim, and a keynote address from Professor Cheong Koon Hean, Chair, CLC Advisory Panel and Chair, Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities, Singapore University of Technology and Design. Panellists Fred Holt, 3XN, Mun Summ Wong, Founding Director, WOHA Architects, and Professor (Practice), National University of Singapore, and moderator Chintan Raveshia , Director, Arup, rounded off the lecture by discussing how regenerative principles could be applied at different urban scales and key role that governance and policy can play.
This lecture is part of the CLC’s Regenerative City Forum series, which also included a multi-sectoral workshop on benefits from a regenerative approach, with close to 70 participants from public agencies, industry and academia.

In an era shaped by rapid urbanisation, climate pressure, and social transformation, cities like Ho Chi Minh City, Bilbao, and Madrid illustrate how context-sensitive strategies can rejuvenate infrastructure and promote sustainable development. AI and Data Innovations For Sustainability and Infrastructure Conference, 1 - 3 April 2025

Held in Singapore, the conference highlighted the importance of AI and data in creating liveable urban environments, with an emphasis on innovation and collaborations to drive sustainable solutions.

Liveability Framework: Part 9 – Case Studies from Cities Around the World

CLC launched the refreshed Liveability Framework (LF) at the World Cities Summit in June 2024. This is the ninth of a 10-part series on the LF that showcases its various components through bite-sized articles.
While the LF had been developed based on Singapore’s urban development experience, many other cities have also demonstrated the outcomes and system principles outlined in the LF.
