Realising Our Shared Climate Vision Together
COP, short for “Conference of the Parties”, is the main decision-making body of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Meeting annually, COP gathers world leaders to set climate ambitions and responsibilities, identify and assess climate measures and develop climate change solutions to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement. Taking place from 11 – 22 Nov 2024, in Baku, the COP29 Presidency’s aim this year is to enhance ambition and enable action in solidarity for a green world..
This year, CLC will be curating engaging panel discussions as part of Cities Day at the COP29 Singapore Pavilion.
Driving Socio-Behavioural Science in Urban Development through a Community of Practice

The Socio-Behavioral Science (SBS) Community of Practice (CoP) builds on CLC’s research experience to foster stronger knowledge sharing and awareness of social science-related research, methodologies and tools; share how SBS contributes toward concrete and impactful outcomes for the urban environment; identify opportunities for collaboration and seeding of innovative cross-cutting research; and build capabilities and a sense of community in the SBS research community across government and academia.

The refreshed Liveability Framework was launched at the World Cities Summit in June 2024. This is the third of a 10-part series to introduce the various components of the Framework.
Delivering a high quality of life is one of the three vital liveability outcomes in the Framework. For Singapore, it emphasises the need to keep residents at the heart of planning and policy, and serves as a timely reminder that urban development should not come at the expense of well-being and welfare.
