The Future of Central Business Districts (CBD) – A CLC-Arup Roundtable series
CLC and Arup partnered to organise the Future of Central Business Districts (CBDs) roundtable on 19 January. The hybrid session brought together over 30 participants from 6 Asia Pacific cities: Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo to discuss key trends, common challenges and how to better plan the CBDs of the future.

The Temasek Foundation Leaders of Urban Governance Programme (TFLUGP) 2022 Follow-Up Visits
As part of follow-up to the November 2022 edition of the Temasek Foundation Leaders of Urban Governance Programme (TFLUGP), two teams of experts from Singapore visited Ho Chi Minh City and Ipoh in January 2024. These visits were for these cities to showcase the progress of their urban development action plans and deepen mutual ties.

Enhancing Water Resilience through Integrated Water Management – Surat, India
Water management challenges are not new to Surat. They have been actively addressing these challenges since the launch of its city resilience strategy in 2017.. Through the sharing of knowledge and ideas at the Temasek Foundation Urban Resilience Programme (TFURP), city leaders were able to continue building on their key initiatives to secure its water future and set an inspiring example for other cities facing similar challenges.

Lecture Report: Creating a Regenerative City
Regenerative design is a promising approach to tackle the climate crisis, given the inadequacy of the sustainable pathway to limit global warming to the 1.5-degree target set out in the Paris Agreement.
Ramboll’s Global Design Director, Dr Hossein Rezai and Managing Director for Buildings, Mr. Søren Brøndum explained how regenerative design requires a multi-stakeholder approach, going beyond reducing carbon emissions to consider nature as a partner, inter-generational equity and resource circularity.

Lecture Report: Towards a more inclusive Singapore: Designing Dementia-Friendly Neighbourhoods
This lecture, to promote and build mindshare on planning and designing Dementia-Friendly Neighbourhoods, was a follow-up from the Dementia-Friendly Neighbourhoods Research Study, conducted by CLC, Agency for Integrated Care (AIC), the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), and the Yio Chu Kang Grassroots Organisation. Presenters included Yip Hon Weng, Advisor to Yio Chu Kang Grassroots Organisation, See Yen Theng from AIC, and Assoc Prof Chong Keng Hua from SUTD.
